Hiring Afterschool Nanny in Maida Vale, Job ID J227A2

A family based in Maida Vale, West London, is looking for an experienced and reliable after-school Nanny to support their household and care for their school-aged child.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of professional childcare experience. The role also includes walking the family's very sweet and calm dog. Candidates interested in extra hours have the option to take on an additional 4 to 6 hours of weekly housekeeping, which can start earlier at 12:00 PM twice a week.

A valid first aid qualification is needed for this position.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM (17.5 hours per week), plus weekly Thursday evening babysitting until 22:30/23:00 (bringing core weekly hours to 22.5, with optional housekeeping hours available).

Duties include:

• handling school pick-ups and ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of the school-aged child
• engaging the child in interactive play, educational activities, and outdoor outings such as park visits
• encouraging early literacy by reading books and providing homework assistance to support educational growth
• establishing and maintaining consistent daily routines, including bath time and personal hygiene
• keeping the child's bedroom and play areas clean, organized, and tidy
• preparing meals for the child, cooking larger portions to accommodate the family
• walking the family's sweet and calm dog
• performing optional housekeeping duties twice a week starting at 12:00 PM if extra hours are desired

The family is looking for someone who can start on 1 December 2026.
