Housekeeper-cook for a live-in role, Job ID J18DDA

A live-in housekeeper is needed by this wonderful family in Purley, London, to help maintain the cleanliness and organisation of their home. The ideal candidate will be organised, hardworking, and proactive in handling all general housekeeping tasks. Daily responsibilities include preparing breakfast each day, with occasional lunch and dinner preparation. The family is looking for a team player who can work alongside two other staff members—one full-time and one part-time—sharing housework and assisting with errands.

Working hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 7:15 am to 8:15 pm (2x 45 minute breaks) may be requested to house sit up to two nights per week, approximately 57.5 hours per week

Accommodation: Separate, self-contained accommodation with own kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom

Duties include:

• Dealing with grocery shopping and maintaining receipts
• Placing orders for kitchen and utility supplies and also lamps for house lighting
• Keeping kitchen pots, pans and work surfaces clean and in good condition
• Ensuring the refrigerator is clean and out-of-date items discarded
• Tidying and cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas
• Organising window cleaners
• Some washing and ironing of laundry & hand washing delicate items (though much goes to laundry and dry cleaners who collect)
• Answering door
• Keeping patios, pathways and steps clean and tidy
• Watering household plants
• Dealing with tradesmen, suppliers and contractors when a client gives instructions to
• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Clearing away, tidying and cleaning the kitchen and rooms where food is eaten
• Presenting menus for approval and discussing dietary requirements with the client
