A family living in Islington, London is looking for a part-time nanny-housekeeper to care for their two school-aged children and help keep their home clean and organised. They need someone proactive and flexible, able to balance both childcare and housekeeping responsibilities.
Key duties include school pick-ups, supervising the children, grocery shopping, general cleaning, and preparing family meals. The ideal candidate should feel confident cooking Italian dishes each evening and be comfortable handling deep cleaning tasks around the home.
Working hours: Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, total of 30 hours per week
Duties include:
- Ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of the children
- Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks tailored to the children
- Running pick ups from school and activities
- Keeping children's bedrooms and play areas clean, organised, and tidy
- Engaging the children in interactive play, educational activities, and outdoor outings such as visits to the park
- Encouraging early literacy by reading books to the children
- Providing homework assistance and supporting the children’s educational growth
- Establishing and maintaining consistent daily routines to support the children's structure and development
- Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of a private residence
- Performing routine floor care, including sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping
- Dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
- Cleaning and sanitising bathroom facilities, including sinks, bathtubs, and showers
- Cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen area
- Washing, drying, and organising clothing and linens
- Managing laundry tasks, including ironing and folding
- Making beds and replacing linens as needed
- Cleaning and organising dish ware, including loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Cooking healthy meals for the family
While the family strongly prefers someone who speaks Italian, they are also open to English-speaking candidates. A valid first aid qualification is required for this role. The family is seeking someone to hire on the 1st of September 2025 and they are happy to meet lovely candidates.
