Part-time or Full-time SEN Nanny in Warwick, Job ID J21A27

This lovely family based in Warwick is looking for a SEN Nanny on a part-time or full-time basis, to take care of their school-aged child. The family is looking for someone who can provide dedicated, specialist care for their 4-year-old child with autism, ensuring a highly safe, predictable and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will manage all physical and personal care routines with patience and sensitivity.

Someone with previous SEN experience is a must. A driver is required for this role. The family has a french bull dog, so a pet-friendly candidate is also a must. Someone fluent in Spanish or Japanese would be a bonus, but not a must.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 6:30 pm. Open to part-time in the future. TBD with the candidate.

Duties include:

• Manage nappy changes, ensuring gentle hygiene care, and close monitoring of safety.
• Help introduce toilet training.
• Support the child's non-verbal communication by utilising visual aids, sensory cues, and interactive play to anticipate and respond to his needs.
• Willingness to learn how to use Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices (AAC) - prior experience is preferred.
• Design and lead tailored, stimulating sensory activities centred around the child's passions for arts and crafts, transport and exposure to Spanish and Japanese languages.
• Foster a calm, structured routine that minimises sensory overload while gently encouraging his developmental progress and emotional well-being.
• Preparing simple meals when required.
