A lovely family based in East Sheen, London, is seeking an experienced Tutor to support the learning and academic development of their 8-year-old child.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of tutoring or teaching experience and will speak fluent English. The family is looking for someone patient, engaging, and enthusiastic, with the ability to tailor lessons to the child's individual learning style. The successful candidate should be confident teaching English, Maths, and Science, while inspiring a love of learning and building the child's confidence.

The tutor will collect the child from school, which is just a 5-minute walk from the family home, before delivering structured and engaging lessons. The role includes supporting homework, identifying learning gaps, tracking progress, and providing regular feedback to the parents. A driver is not required.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 4:00 pm to 5:00/5:30 pm, for approximately 5 to 7.5 hours per week.

Duties include:

• collecting the child from school at 4:00 pm
• delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons tailored to the child's learning style
• reinforcing English, Maths, and Science in line with the school curriculum
• identifying and addressing gaps in learning through regular assessment
• supporting homework completion and developing independent study habits
• encouraging reading through age-appropriate books and comprehension activities
• developing numeracy skills through interactive and hands-on learning
• preparing structured lesson plans and monitoring progress
• providing regular feedback to parents on the child's achievements and areas for improvement
• making learning enjoyable through games, creative projects, and positive reinforcement
• building the child's confidence, focus, and enthusiasm for learning
• liaising with the child's school, where appropriate, to support learning objectives

The family is looking for someone who can start on 1st September 2026.
