Nannies are highly sought after in the UK and overseas. The demand for qualified and experienced candidates is growing, and is leading to an increase in competition. But how much does it cost to hire a Nanny?
Nanny salaries in the UK and overseas have generally been on the rise over the past years. Some of the main reasons for this are an increase in demand, cost of living, and inflation.
Nannies are the top childcare preference for parents nowadays. Parents are looking for the most qualified, skilled, and experienced Nannies for their children. They prefer to hire Nannies due to the personalised and flexible childcare they can offer right in their home.
Nannies provide:
One of the most reliable and secure ways of finding a Nanny is through a childcare agency. Childcare agencies ensure that parents can find experienced and trustworthy Nannies fast and securely.
Childcare agencies offer reliability and expertise. They remove the burden of securing childcare from parents’ shoulders, saving time and unnecessary stress.
The Little Ones childcare agency does all the work. All parents have to do is offer a detailed brief in the beginning, including:
Once the Nanny specialists know exactly what parents are looking for, they can begin searching for the most appropriate Nanny candidate, according to the brief.
Nannies go through a multi-stage vetting process before starting to work with a family. The vetting process includes the following stages and checks:
After all the checks are completed, the Nannies are officially registered with Little Ones and can be presented to parents. Their profiles will be sent to their inbox, where they can check their suitability and arrange to interview them before choosing to hire.
For temporary/fixed-term contract Nannies, Little Ones charges a £50 daily service fee. Clients will need to pay an hourly wage to the Nanny. This is around £18 gross per hour for a minimum of 5 hours per day.
For a permanent service, Little Ones charges a £69 registration fee to begin working on the Nanny search. Clients will receive a selection of profiles made up of Nannies who have been vetted especially for them and from our 40,000+ strong candidate database.
Clients have the chance to interview all their preferred candidates via video call or face-to-face to ensure they are the perfect match for their family. Once they have chosen a Nanny they love, they can offer to employ them.
The Consultant will take care of the contract of employment and liaise between the two parties. This will ensure that the family and the Nanny are equally represented and are happy with the terms of the contract.
Before the Nanny can start working, the client will have to submit payment for the services provided by the agency. The agency fee is between 13% to 17% of the Nanny’s gross annual salary
For example, if the Nanny you’re employing will earn £600 gross per week, you will need to multiply this by 52 (the number of weeks in a year), and then multiply the result by 14% to obtain the cost.
£600 (gross per week) x 52 (weeks) = £31,200 x 14% = £4,992 (+ VAT)
Please note that the permanent placement cost is a one-off fee. You will only be charged once, before the Nanny starts working in your home. This is not a repeat or subscription service.
In addition, the permanent placement Nanny service includes 6 months of free replacement guarantee. If your Nanny doesn’t work out within the first 6 months, we will restart the search for you free of charge.
The permanent placement Nanny service also includes 3 months of free Payroll service in the UK through our sister company, the Little Ones Payroll Service.
