Paediatric First Aid Courses following COVID-19 Government Advice

At Little Ones, our main goal is to keep our candidates and clients safe while the emergency situation regarding COVID-19 and its rules are still in place. Every service that we offer to our candidates and clients follows the rules of health & safety that the Government has requested, to reduce any risk of contracting the virus.

One of the services that we have at our agency is our Paediatric First Aid Courses, which will give you practical, hands-on practice in how to manage an ill or injured child in the event of any emergency. Many of our candidates have been wondering when we will start offering the courses, since to get the paediatric first aid certificate, the person who is doing the course needs to put into practice the theory that they have learnt, e.g. the CPR technique.

The latest Government announcements about the easement of the lockdown measures in England has established that we will move from level 4 to level 3 on the COVID-19 alert scale around the 1st of June, and that all high-street shops will be allowed to open on the 15th June, 2020.

Every day, the Government will be releasing news and different measures that will need to be applied depending on the work environment. It’s for this, that Little Ones will be updating their measures for the courses and the social distancing rules that our candidates and trainers will need to follow to be able to develop our courses in Little Ones offices.

When Little Ones are opening for Paediatric First Aid training?

Little Ones is working every day to make our course locations safe for our candidates; we are working to have all the measures in place to be able to open our doors as soon as possible and to give our candidates that feeling of safety for which everyone is searching after the emergency days that the country has been through.

This is why we have decided to have our first Paediatric First Aid course on the 4th July, 2020 at 3 Hanson Street. W1W 6TB.

Little Ones will be following each piece of the advice that Public Health England and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has given.

How will Little Ones keep their trainers and delegates safe during the course?

The safety of our trainers and delegates is the most important thing for us in these times that we are living in in England, so we will be implementing the following measures and rules to keep everyone safe:

  1. All our communications will be via email. We won’t book any of our courses at our offices.
  2. We will be having a maximum of 6 delegates at our locations to follow the measure of 2 meters apart from each other.
  3. We encourage our delegates to contact us any time that they are feeling any of the COVID-19 symptoms from 15 days before the course, which include a new persistent cough, high temperature, loss or change to sense of smell or taste; and that they must not attend the training or come close to our locations. We will provide the delegate with new dates to attend the course, which will be 15 days after they start feeling any COVID-19 symptoms.
  4. We may check the delegate's temperatures before they enter our offices.
  5. The payment for the course must be via bank transfer or over the phone. We won’t accept cash payment on the day of the course.
  6. Our trainers will be making sure that delegates keep the social distancing measures between everyone at all times during the course; we will request this from the moment that our delegates arrive to register until they leave our locations.
  7. Little Ones will provide delegates with hand sanitisation, available all around our building and we will encourage the delegates to wash their hands as soon as they get into our facilities.
  8. At the moment of the CPR practice, our trainers will operate a 1:1 delegate to manikin ratio and we will maintain a strict and rigorous manikin cleaning protocols.
  9. Little Ones will provide gloves for those practical exercises that require the use of them.
  10. We won’t provide face-coverings, but if our delegates want to use them during the training they are welcome to do so.
